This privacy policy may be modified at any time by Monde du Brol, in particular in order to comply with any regulatory, legal, editorial or technical developments. The user must refer to the latest version of the Policy before any navigation.  
 
The company Monde Du Brol, operating under the brand name Monde du Brol, offers for sale articles and decoration accessories on its website http://www.mondedubrol.com, on its future mobile applications and soon in its physical shops. In order to offer for sale, sell and deliver its products, Monde du Brol collects personal data from the users of its website, its mobile applications and its customers during purchases made in the physical points of sale.
 
1. THE DATA CONTROLLER

Monde du Brol holds great importance to the protection of this personal data and takes action in ensuring users’ privacy and is therefore careful with personal data. The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform users of the means used to collect, consult, process and retain users’ personal data. Monde du Brol, as the data controller, undertakes to comply with the provisions of Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of personal data. The customer is informed that certain data must be collected by Monde du Brol in order to provide its services. If the customer does not wish to provide this data, Monde du Brol will not be able to perform its services.

  

This means the following:

– Processing personal data in accordance with the purpose for which Monde du Brol has requested them. What type of personal data and what purposes that is, we describe in this privacy statement.

– The processing of personal data is limited to only those data that are minimally necessary for the purposes for which they are processed.

– Monde du Brol asks for explicit permission if in need for the processing of personal data.

– Monde du Brol has taken technical and organizational measures for the guarantee of the security of personal data.

– Monde du Brol does not pass on personal data to other parties, unless this is necessary for the execution of the purposes for which they were requested.

– Monde du Brol is aware of users’ rights regarding personal data. Monde du Brol respects these rights and informs users about them.

2. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA 

Monde du Brol collects personal data from users on the http://www.mondedubrol.com website, on its mobile applications and when making purchases in any future Monde du Brol shops. 

The personal data that may be collected are the following: 

– User account data: i.e. the data that the User enters when creating an account by filling in the registration form (first name, last name, billing and delivery postal addresses, email address, mobile phone number, password for connection to the customer account);

– Personal data of the user when he/she enters them in his/her customer account: date of birth;

– Transaction data: refers to data that the user provides when making purchases, such as order information and returns, telephone number, address, e-mail address and payment information;

– Exchanges with customer service ;

– Data relating to browsing: this refers to the data that the Publisher collects during the User’s browsing of the Site and the applications, such as the date and time of connection and/or browsing, the type of browser, the language of the browser, the User’s IP address, location data and geolocation.

– Data relating to payment methods (credit card number, expiry date, authorization number, security code) are collected directly by our service providers WordPress and Paypal. Third-party providers of applications, tools, gadgets and plug-ins on our website and mobile applications, as well as networks on which we publish editorial and promotional content (such as Facebook and Instagram) may also use automated, interest- and context-related means to collect user data (interactions with features and profiling of online activity). This data is collected directly by these providers and/or third parties and is subject to their policies. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Monde du Brol is not responsible for the practices of these providers and third parties. Some services may be impaired or inaccessible without consent to the collection of the data mentioned in this Privacy Policy.

Monde du Brol only uses the collected data for the purposes for which we have obtained the data.

Monde du Brol only processes personal data of persons under 16 years of age if written consent has been given by the parent or legal representative.

3. PURPOSE OF THE COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA 

The data collected in the context of the use of the website, the application or in the physical shops are processed for the purposes described below. The regulations in force protect the privacy of users and require any data controller to be able to justify a legitimate basis for the said processing. 

The regulations thus provide for the following legal bases for processing: 

– information about Belgian legislation (volunteer law, vzw law, accounting law) (legal obligation);

– the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, such as a sales contract. Thus, some of the customer’s personal data are necessary to deliver the goods, manage the customer account and make returns;

– compliance with a legal obligation, in particular an accounting obligation, by keeping invoices;

– the prior consent of the data subject;

– information for users for which they consented (for example: newsletters);

– the legitimate interest of the data controller, with respect to the rights and freedoms of users. For example, improving the customer experience or preventing fraud may justify data collection.

Monde du Brol does not share any personal data for commercial purposes with third parties. The user has the possibility to modify his personal data and to withdraw his consent at any time by logging into his customer account.   

4. SERVICE PROVIDERS WITH ACCESS TO USERS’ PERSONAL DATA

The personal data collected is passed on to Monde du Brol’s service providers, who may carry out processing on behalf of Monde du Brol (subcontractors) and/or on their own behalf (data recipients). The recipients of the data are : 

– WordPress and Paypal, payment providers;

– any police or administrative authority in the context of judicial requests concerning the fight against fraud;

– customs services and providers in case of delivery abroad. Monde du Brol’s subcontractors may have access to the data collected for : – the preparation and dispatch of orders and the return of products;

– improving the content of websites and mobile applications;

– technical maintenance and development of the website, mobile applications and Monde du Brol’s internal applications, including entities that execute orders and provide web hosting, information storage, email service providers, as well as analysis services such as Google Analytics.  

Monde du Brol makes the necessary arrangements with these other parties to guarantee the security of your personal data. Monde du Brol never passes on personal data to other parties with whom Monde du Brol has not concluded a processing agreement.

5. USERS’ RIGHTS TO THEIR PERSONAL DATA 

In accordance with Articles 14 to 22 of Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016, any natural person using the Monde du Brol website (www.mondedubrol.com) or mobile applications has the right to exercise the following rights: 

– A right of access, rectification and deletion of the data collected;
– A right to object to the processing of one’s data;
– A right to restrict processing;
– A right to portability of collected data;
– May formulate directives relating to the conservation, deletion and communication of their personal data after their death in accordance with article 40-1 of the law 78-17 of 6 January 1978. 

Finally, if Monde du Brol detects a violation of personal data likely to generate a high risk for the rights and freedoms of its users, it undertakes to inform the users concerned as soon as possible. The user may exercise all of these rights by logging into his or her customer area, by contacting customer service at hello@mondedubrol.com. The user must attach proof of identity to his request. In the event of no response or an unsatisfactory response, the user may refer the matter to the supervisory authority in their country of residence.  

6. DURATION OF DATA RETENTION 

User data will not be retained beyond the period strictly necessary for the purposes set out herein and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. In this respect, data used for canvassing purposes may be kept for a maximum of 5 years from the closure of the user’s account or the last contact of the prospect concerned. The user’s data is deleted when the retention periods expire. 

Nevertheless, the data may be archived beyond the periods provided for the needs of research, the ascertainment and the prosecution of criminal offenses with the sole aim of making these data available to the judicial authorities, where necessary. Archiving implies that these data will be anonymized and will no longer be available for consultation online but will be extracted and stored on an autonomous and secure medium.  

7. SECURITY MEASURES FOR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION

In its capacity as data controller, Monde du Brol undertakes to take all necessary precautions to preserve the security and confidentiality of the data and, in particular, to prevent it from being altered, distorted or accessed by unauthorised third parties. 

For example, the following measures have been taken:

– Data are always archived in the office of Hoarderlife in non-public places.

– We use a username and password policy on all our systems.

– We regularly test and evaluate our measures.

– Our employees are informed about the importance of the protection of personal data.

– Monde du Brol has concluded service contracts with partners who have a certain expertise in the field of data protection. All data is hosted in Belgium or in the European Union. 

Payment providers

The payment of purchases on the website and on our mobile applications is made either via Paypal or Woocommerce Payments.

Monde du Brol does not have access to customer payment data.

However, the user can choose to save his payment card data in his customer account. These data are not stored by Monde du Brol, but by Woocommerce Payments and/or Paypal. The user can modify or delete these bank details at any time by logging into his customer account.  

You can object if you do not want us to pass on the data to (one of) the processors (see chapter ‘Passing on data to other parties’). In that case, Monde du Brol can decide to refuse participation in activities. 

8. USE OF COOKIES

When browsing our website and mobile applications, information relating to the browsing of the user’s terminal (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) may be recorded through files called “Cookies”.

Monde du Brol’s official Facebook and Instagram accounts may allow users to post their content. The user is informed that the content published on these social networks can be seen by any third party, and that increased vigilance is required from users when they provide certain personal data on these sites or applications such as financial data, address or any sensitive data. Monde du Brol is in no way responsible for any damage caused by third parties due to or resulting from the publication of their personal data by users.  

10. LINKS TO THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

The website and mobile applications may provide links to sites, applications and services other than those of Monde du Brol which may be operated by third party companies. Monde du Brol is not responsible for the processing of personal data by these third party sites. The user should consult the personal data protection policies.

11. COMPLAINTS

If users wish to issue a complaint about the processing of their personal data, they are advised to contact Monde du Brol immediately. Users always have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority as the supervisory authority in the field of privacy protection.
